An idea for Windows "8"
Please pass this along to the appropriate team as I think it should be consider next time around. For Windows 8 I think what you guys should do is travel around the country visit major big box stores like Best buy and set up a kiosk. Ask peoples thoughts on windows and what they like to see. Another idea is to have a general website for the public to sign up and vote on ideas and sugestions (like Windows 7 taskforce. The site will be more user friendly with topics that matter to them.

Chris - For what it's worth, Microsoft already does a LOT of this sort of thing - maybe not the kiosk at the local Best Buy - but they do actually test ideas out on people before they go whole hog with the idea. They do listen to feedback generated in the wild, and if an idea isn't too far fetched, they'll see about putting it into practice. As far as web based feedback goes - there is this little thing they like calling TechNet. These forums exist for that purpose as well as squashing bugs... The Have A Comment on Windows threads are regularly populated with ideas and feedback. Since Windows 7 is now in Bug Catching mode with the RC, good ideas will be filed for future use - maybe even Windows 8.

Technet is not user friendly. I'm talking about an easy to use and easy to find website
